Derby double for Kadewere as Lyon run riot

Zimbabwe international striker Tino Kadewere scored a double for Olympic Lyon as they massacred St Etienne in their Ligue 1 derby match on Sunday.

Kadewere’s goals came in the 16th and 68th minute. That takes his tally to nine goals this season, a healthy return for a player who had never turned out for any team in the top 5 leagues across Europe.

Marcelo also got a pair while the other one came from Memphis Depay.

Of his performance and the team’s win, Kadewere said, “We are very happy. I’m happy to have scored this double. This victory is for our supporters. This will propel us through to the end of the season. You build up trust.”

Lyon now sit third in Ligue 1, Two points behind PSG and Lille.
