The National Premier League kicked off this weekend with a fantastic round of cricket.
There were some standout performances, and also some bang average ones.
But these are our XI player of the week, by performance with bat or bowl:
- Brian Mudzinganyama (Rainbow) – Highest scoring opener, made 32 runs
- Milton Shumba (Gladiators) – Scored 21 and took 1-14 with the ball
- Craig Ervine (Kings) – Got 35 off 31 balls and took 2 catches
- Elton Chigumbura (Takashinga) – Player of the week with an unbeaten 62
- Sikandar Raza (Kings) – Scored 30 and took 2-33
- Ryan Burl (Kings) – Got 47 and took 2-11
- Carl Mumba (Midwest) – Scored 54 and took 2 -33
- Ainsley Ndlovu (Amakhosi) – Took 4-12
- Brendon Mavuta (Rainbow) – Took 4-14
- Daniel Jakiel (Rainbow) – Took 4-25
- Patrick Mambo (Kings) – 4-26 and 1 catch
12th man: Thabani Mboyi. Did not take wickets but steely nerves at the end to win it for Amakhosi at the end was the major game changer.
