18 #Covid19Zim deaths reported in 24 hours on Wednesday

There have been 18 deaths reported in 24 hours as Covid-19 cases in Zimbabwe continued to rise, the Ministry of Health and Child Care announced in its situation report for Wednesday 12 August 2020.

16 of those deaths were recorded in Harare alone. That means 71 of the 122 deaths of people with Covid-19 since recording started are from the capital city.

There were 75 new positive cases, 74 of which were local with one returnee from South Africa. That brings the total cumulative cases to to 4,893.

There were 76 recoveries recorded bringing the total to 1621.

That means there are 3,151 active cases.
