Child dies with Covid-19 in Zimbabwe

The Ministry of Health and Child Care has announced the Covid-19 death of a child in Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe.

The minor, whose age was not given, had been admitted into hospital complaining of pneumonia-like symptoms. It is the first recorded death of a child with Covid-19. It happened on 11 July 2020.

30 cases were recorded on Tuesday, 16 of which were local contact. Seven of the cases are of known confirmed cases while the rest are being investigated.

There were also 52 new recoveries recorded.

There are now 1034 cases recorded since the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak on 20 March 2020. 20 have resulted in death with 343 recoveries. There are 673 active cases.
