Zimbabwe tour of Australia in doubt

Zimbabwe’s first bilateral cricket tour of Australia since 2004 is ind doubt.

Australia coach Justin Langer plans to have his charges ready to play in September which casts a huge shadow of doubt given they are meant to host the action-starved Southern Africans for an ODI series in August.

That series was meant to be Australia’s first post-Covid-19 pandemic series. Zimbabwe plan to host Afghanistan in July-August subject to government approval.

If the cancellation is confirmed it will be another blow for Zimbabwe who saw two county visits by Durham and Derbyshire as well as series against Ireland, India and the Netherlands cancelled.

Zimbabwe resumed training last week, with 37 players dotted across the country.
