Zimbabwe increases civil servant salaries, announces USD Covid-19 allowance

The Zimbabwe government has announced a 50% salary increment from 1 June.

Government pensions will go up by the same amount.

On top of that an allowance of USD75 has been announced which will run for three months. It has been linked to Covid-19 and is an interim adjustment. USD 30 will be deposiited into Nostro accounts that all civil servants have been instructed to open. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is working on domestic transactability for this currency.
