Moor, Jongwe, Murray, Madziva included in Zimbabwe training squad [full list inside]

Zimbabwe cricket players started training after government approval with troupes dotted around the country.

A 37-man squad has bee named and among them are possibly forgotten men Peter Moor, Luke Jongwe, Tendai Chisoro, Brendon Mavuta, Madziva and Ryan Burl.

The prodigious Wesley Madhevere is also in there as is uncapped Eagles all-rounder Faraz Akram as is Tapiwa Mufudza.

All players and coaches tested negative for Covid-19. Each zone has technical officials overseeing them with a lot of focus on fitness this week.

Zimbabwe are hoping to host Afghanistan as they restart their international cricket in July-August, subject to government approval.

Our verdict is that it would be difficult to pick a different squad. It has a lot of the essentials and looks to keep moving on the path started last year, especially in Singapore, in fashioning a new team fused with the old.
