Legendary DJ Peter Johns has died

Legendary DJ Peter John’s has died.

Johns suffered a heart attack in the 2019 and had been unwell.

He was based in the United Kingdom.

Johns made a big name for himself on Radio 3 and the club circuit in the 1990s. On the former he presented the top 20 shows on some days of the week. He also hosted midday shows.

He left ZBC after it started its 100% local content policy but continued to be popular on the UK circuit among Zimbabweans.

A fellow radio presenter around the same time Ezra Tshisa Sibanda expressed his sorrow:

Peter Johns “Radio Driver” but why my brother? I’m shocked and dont even know what to say. Rest In Peace my Big Brother. Dear God what is going on?

Another fellow DJ at that time King Jay added:

I’m saddened 2 learn of e death of my childhood friend,colleague at Radio 3 FM & Zimbabwe’s finest DJ Peter Johns “The Radio Driver”.Peter had been ill 4 some time following a triple heart by pass several years ago.PJ was hospitalised in Nov.2019. R.I.P. PJ😢
