Chinese billionaire is following up on his previous donation to Africa’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic with another contribution.
His announcement was as follows:
Our second donation to 54 countries in Africa is on the way. That includes 500 ventilators, 200K suits & face shields, 2K thermometers, 1M swabs & extraction kits and 500K gloves. Thank you @AbiyAhmedAli @flyethiopian @AfricaCDC @WFP for your partnership. Stay safe Africa!
The donation comes on the back one which was taken delivery of all over Africa last month through Ethiopian Airways.
The pandemic has seen 14 African countries including Zimbabwe institute nationwide lockdowns in an effort to contain a spread. While the Zimbabwe airspace is closed, it is open to Ethiopian Airways to take delivery of medical supplies.
Zimbabwe has had 9 confirmed cases with one death.
