Bulawayo woman family under self-quarantine over Covid-19

A Bulawayo woman and her family are under self-quarantine after the doctor she sought treatment from in South Africa tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

Health and Child Care minister Obadiah Moyo made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.

He also added that a tourist who left Zimbabwe via South Africa on the 10th of March tested positive for on his return to his home country in the United Kingdom. The government has started contact tracing all those who interfaced with the tourist in Victoria Falls.

He however said it is still too early for Zimbabwe to implement drastic measures in the wake of the pandemic. The stage at which closing of borders and certain spaces has not been reached, he added.

There is no confirmed case of Covid-19 in Zimbabwe.
