TOP 3 IN 2019: Williams, Ervine prove pivotal for Zimbabwe in runs and wickets standings

Craig Ervine and Sean Williams proved pivotal to Zimbabwe in ODI and T20 quick stats for the year 2019.

In a year, Zimbabwe suffered in the headlines and had very little cricket compared to the rest of the world both players were brilliant with the bat while Williams added to it with sparkling bowling performances.

In ODIs Ervine led the way with 395 in 9 innings at an average of 43.88. Second was Williams with 322 runs in the same number of innings at an average of 46. Third was Sikandar Raza who made 179 in 6 innings for an average of 29.83.

In T20s Williams led the way 258 off 12 innings, averaging 28.66. In half the number of matches, Ervine got 232 with an average of 46.40. Ryan Burl was third with 197 off 9 outings at 32.83.

In the wicket-taking column, Kyle Jarvis led with 13 wickets followed by Williams with 11 and Tendai Chatara on 10. Jarvis and Williams played 9 matches while Chatara had one less.

Williams was top of the pile in T20s picking up 13 wickets from 12 matches. Second was Chris Mpofu who got 11 from 6 innings and Kyle Jarvis 11 from 8.

On the whole, Williams was our best performer, featuring in the top two across both formats with bat and ball.
