Zifa switches Afcon tie against Botswana to Harare

The Zimbabwe Football Association has decided against hosting the Africa Cup of Nations tie against Botswana at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo, H Metro is reporting.

The tie will be held at Harare’s National Sports Stadium. It appears that the issue is against the uncertainty over the floodlight system.

Star FM’s Yvonne Mangunda shed more light on the issue:

CAF ordered ZIFA to shift the Warriors Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana from Barbourfields Stadium to the National Sports Stadium in Harare due to uncertainty over floodlight system for the 6pm match. Sources indicate authorities could not guarantee electricity for the night. All matches across Africa will be played in the evening.

You just wonder sometimes…
