There was no vote submitted from a coach or captain for the Fifa Best Awarda according to documents published by Fifa.

It was left to Sikhumbuzo Moyo who represented the media to put a lot in, choosing Virgil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Mohammad Salah. No prizes for guessing what club is probably supported there.

But it is a bit weird that out of hundreds of coaches and captains, Zimbabwe did not submit even though while tiny the little remote islands of Vanuatu showed up.

You would think they would. But then our lot probably did not have anyone at the time since they had fired the coach and would you believe it, disbanded the national team.

Oh well.

Mind you, at least Zimbabwe are equal with Yemen. They only had a journalist too. But they could be excused, what with the bombing and all.
