No, Econet is not shutting its network down on Friday for an upgrade, duh

So weird that Econet Zimbabwe had to respond to the poor Photoshop job that said its network would be going offline for a system upgrade between 6am and 3pm on 16 August 2019.

For the uninitiated that should be like but what is the fuss?

We’re getting there.

The MDC led by the pulpit fella Nelson Chamisa is having a demonstration in Harare against the scarf wearing dude Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government over, well, erm, yah, stuff

Yes, we are getting there.

So in January 2019 there were protests and the government shut down the Internet. And Econet said hey, the government said we should do it.

And so some clown decided to put a fake screenshot of the Econet website claiming there would be a system upgrade during that time the demo is scheduled to be on. Of the poor hack job generally would not pass the smell test for a four year old in terms of the authenticity, but there are a lot of 2 year-olds out there in 30 year-old bodies.

But it did.

So Econet had to say what is below:
