Zimbabwe will tour India for the first time in 18 years when they play three T20 internationals in January 2020, the south Asian giants’ board has confirmed.
That means that massive test against India is postponed for a a bit but it is great to see that the Chevrons will have some action against one of super nations in the game.
The news makes it imperative for Zimbabwe to qualify for the T20 World Cup so that they can use this tour to gauge themselves as part of preparations. The global qualifier will be held from 18 October to 15 November 2019 in the United Arab Emirates.
Zimbabwe coach Lalchand Rajput has made no secret of his intention to qualify for the tournament proper set for Australia in 2020.
The last time Zimbabwe and India played in a T20 bilateral series was in Harare in 2016. The visitors won the series 2-1.
