Two weeks before his release, Buju Banton sends a message to his fans

It is 17 days until Grammy Award-Winning singer Buju Banton is out after serving time in a US jail.

And he has released a message to his fans.

“In light of the adversity I have encountered, I feel the need to stress that my only desire going forward is peace and love,” Buju Banton wrote on his Instagram account. “I only want to be associated with my craft. Having survived, I want to share the good news and strength of my music. I just want to continue making music, which I’ve devoted my life to. I look forward to the opportunity to say a personal thanks to my fans and everyone who supported me.”

Buju is at the end of serving a ten-year sentence after at 2011 drug conviction. After numerous appeals he decided to serve out his full term after a judge said he would dropped a gun charge which would have added years to his imprisonment.
