Wicknell denied bail

Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo’s bid for bail has been rejected.

Harare magistrate Mr Elisha Singano said Chivayo must remanded in custody until 17 August as he is considered a flight risk at this stage.

Chivayo is facing charges of defrauding the Zimbabwe Power Company of $5million. He was arrested late last week in connection with the serious fraud allegations.

His trial date is 27 August 2018.
