Cold weather to persist until Wednesday and here is who’s most affected – Met Dept

The cold weather which has gripped much of the country is expected to persist until Wednesday the Meteorological Services Department has said.

The areas expected to be most affected are Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland South, Southern Areas of Midlands (Zvishavane to Gweru), Masvingo and Minicaldan and will have ‘very cold, windy and cloudy conditions, accompanied with light rain and drizzle’.

This is due to pressure surges off the south-east coast of South Africa pushing cold and moist southeasterly airflow into Zimbabwe causing a sharp drop of daytime temperatures below 15 degrees Celcius. The cold spell will be from Sunday 15 to Wednesday 18 July 2018.

Temperatures during the day  should gradually recover from Thursday onward.

So the two cricket matches on Monday and Wednesday at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo might be a mess.
