At the recent Carrick Wealth Ambassadors Cup at Bushman Rock Safaris in Ruwa, we had a chat with Greg Stockton the Managing Director of the headline sponsor.
Carrick Wealth is a registered South African financial services provider specialising in South African and international financial planning. Carrick is also licensed in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Malawi, and holds three global licences in Mauritius, said it was proud to be associated with the event as title sponsor.
Stockton spoke of the offer the company has:
We look at it from a broad spectrum so we look at growing wealth… people who are in their late 20s and early 30s who want to look at wealth creation. Then we look at protecting wealth which is things like insurance if you got, maybe, children. Then preserving wealth and that is looking at tax-efficient products and people that want to pass on wealth to future generations, so legacy.
He added that Zimbabwe was an important market because the majority of Africa was becoming international and his company is offering off-shore solutions for clients.
SAs for what the offer to Zimbabwe is especially targeting young ones:
I think the word is education. Education to understand why saving is important… The education to pay yourself before you go spending. A lot of people work on the mindset where they get paid from their companies, they go out and spend and whatever they have left they save. We wanna educate people to save first and spend later.
Stockton said the company had opportunities for Zimbabweans who are looking for jobs and in the interview directed people to where they could find out more. Of course including getting information on how to take advantage of the Carrick Wealth offer.
The interview was conducted on the side of the World Cup quarter final match between England and Sweden and you will hear references made as well the lessons that could be learnt for wealth creation from what Gareth Southgate achieved with that team.
