Aussie cricket team not worried about security issues in Zimbabwe

Australian T20 captain Aaron Finch says his side has no security issues in Zimbabwe ahead of a tri-series involving the hosts and Pakistan kicking off this Sunday in Harare.

Aaron Finch will captain the T20 side

This is after a bombing incident at a political rally in White City Stadium in Bulawayo where President Emmerson Mnangagwa had been addressing supporters killed two people and injured scores including high-ranking officials.

Finch said they had a chat with Cricket Australia’s security chief Frank Dimasi about it all:

We were briefed on it last night by Frank our security guy and are all systems go. With DFAT, the Australian government and Cricket Australia, they’ll make sure that all the due diligence is done to make sure it is safe. But at this stage I haven’t heard any unease from the players in regards to going.

Matches will be played over a week at Harare Sports Club from the 1st to the 8th of July. All games are from 10am in the morning.
