Over the years, the Zimbabwean leg has attracted players from all over the world. Last year, the tournament was a good hunting ground for the Australia’s Marc Polmans. He is currently ranked 176 in the world.

Zimbabwe’s hopes will be on home favourite Takanyi Garanganga currently ranked 573 in the world. Takanyi is coming into the tournament fresh from Uganda where he made it into three semi-finals.

Another homeboy to look out for is Benjamin Lock currently ranked 498 in singles and 213 in doubles.

Other Zimbabwean players featuring in the tournament include Courtney Lock, Providence Nyoni, Mark Chigazira amongst other young stars.

The ITF Men’s Circuit provides the entry level of Professional Tournaments enabling players to eventually reach the higher-level tournaments on the ATP World Tour. Many players strategically select remote tournaments because the competition is not considered very good, making it easier to collect rankings points.
