Dark chocolate could improve your eyesight

Got a sweet tooth?

Eating dark chocolate can help people with poor eyesight according to a new study in the US.

Scientists from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas have found that oxidants in it have seen an improvement in the eyesight of 30 adults.

The study however says it needs to cover a wider sample to get a proper result.

A group of 30 were given blind tastings of either 72 percent cocoa dark chocolate or milk chocolate.

With dark chocolate what was reported was improved visibility of “small, low-contrast targets within two hours compared with milk chocolate, but the duration of this difference and clinical relevance remains uncertain.”

So we want that chocolate as a habit.

The authors of the study, published it this month in the Ophthalmology edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
