Namibia won the toss and chose to bat. Within two overs they were already 1-2, Nkosilathi Nungu and Kieran Robinson doing the damage early on.

Captain Lohan Louwrens was part of a 25 run partnership before his opposite number Liam Roche completed a brilliant caught and bowled.

Eben van Wyk tried to get some runs going but was bowled by Dion Myers for 24 with the score on 46.Erich van Mollendorff (17) looked to steady the ship but was run out pretty much carelessly hesitating a single to make it 65-5. Gerhard Lottering’s 19 was the only other significant score with Namibia bowled out for 113 in 40.1 overs.

Zimbabwe’s reply got off to a terrible start when Greg Dollar was removed with the second ball of the innings. Dion Myers was gone in the next over with the score on 6.

The pair of Wesley Madhevere and Alistair Frost then consolidated and at lunch the score was 47-2.

After the break Madhevere seemed all set to make his half century before he holed out a Jan-Izak de Villiers delivery straight to cover. He was gone for 47 with Zimbabwe now 78-3. Coupled with his 2-11 off six overs Madhevere will have been proud of his shift.

Tinashe Nenhunzi and Frost then knocked off the remaining runs in 26 balls as Zimbabwe completed the victory in 19.3 overs.

Zimbabwe no await their semi-final opponents with the match set for later this week.
