So we speak a lot about the beer gut.
You know, the belly that comes with a constant supply of the imbibing stuff.
Some even suggest giving up ale to avoid developing a rotund midsection. Well it appears if one does not really have to go that far.
There are ways one can drink beer and not gain weight, well not gut weight.
- Drink slowly. Chug chug and going through 15 pints in your first hour is not a good idea. Your liver does not have enough time to process the beer. Take an hour even, to down a beer (liver takes that long to deal with one). That way your body is under less pressure to metabolise meaning you store less fat. In an inefficient system is no good for you.
- Rehydrate. Not just to ward of a hangover. Have a glass of water with every beer and well, you metabolise better.
- Eat protein. Take protein before or during consumption and it will reduce your alcohol intake apparently. It also decreases the alcohol absorption rate by at least 40%. Less fat and you are good to go. So drinks at the tshisa nyama perhaps? Asazi.
- Know the calorie content of your beer. It could be a light beer, but is the calorie count any different? Do the checking

That said, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys on the hit HBO show Game Of Thrones loves dudes with dad bods. So erm…
