It is now centred on how sensational and mellow you can go. Easy does it and it’s evident in this new song by DaKid VeRsE.
It’s titled Over and it is a crispy, polished and a pithy commentary of a somehow ambiguous love that has posed psychological trauma to the guy. The girl is acting up and somewhere somehow they have such a tumultuous relationship.From what it looks like the relationship has lost all purpose and now we have DaKid asking his lady if there anything worth waiting.It’s a nonchalantly efficient pop heart.
The record is certainly dense and something lovers of the new age rap can adore. What makes it special is that DaKid has that trifecta of rapping/songwriting/singing going on, even though we we prefers it when he raps.
The production is also flawless. Nyasha Timbe produced it and you can always count for a fresh yet original beat from him.
What’s also notable about Over is that it’s the first off the rapper’s offing Untold Stories EP dropping end of this month. So, DaKid still definitely has a lot to prove himself.Hopefully the EP will lead to bigger and better things for him, however, we’d hope that he doesn’t blow up and forget his sound because we think it’s unique and tight.
