QUICK SONG REVIEW: Mr Rebel ft Griffin Makwiramiti – Ridza

Mr Rebel makes a soft debut with this track of perseverance and dreamchasing.

Ridza introduces the videographer to the music space under SoSick Records and power rapper Griffin Makwiramiti on the track.

It attempts on singalongability on the sound but loses in that it is difficult and sometimes impossible to hear what Mr Rebel is saying. His vocals fight a lot with the guitar that they feel like the chants heard on Enigma’s Return To Innocence. And juxtaposed against the strength of the power in Griffin’s voice it is pretty clear. Too much juice on the synths.

That said, a lot of the aesthetics are great, with the kind of progression many local producers are often scared of exploring.

Brave entry.
