Varaidzo’s rich voice does some seriously heavy hitting on her newest track Wakapenga.
The track is sweet and simple throughout, a lovely little love ballad that could easily be background music if not for the depth of emotion and luxuriousness of her singing.
Immersed in her powerful lyrics and smoky, soulful voice, the songstress croons a gripping ballad sumerged in emotions for her man. Her voice, as per usual, has depth and maturity, except on the opening verse which, I strongly believe was not really as good as she can be. Cheesy lyrics, that could have been better done. Yet her formidable ability to be super romantic without oozing lewd impression is what makes us crown her as our admirable demure soul diva.
We found the ascending and descending motif on this tune incredibly comforting, add to that an eye candy production from Russo.
It’s a lovely, simple track.
