Banyana Banyana roll past Mighty Warriors

South Africa’s women’s side beat the Zimbabwe ladies side 3-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Thursday.

A brace from Thembi Kgatlana and a goal by Leandra Simeda settled it for Banyana Banyana in the Mighty Warriors only friendly in the run-up to the African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) which kicks off next week Saturday.

Zimbabwe are grouped with today’s opponents, Egypt and hosts Cameroon.

It is odd though that Zimbabwe decided to meet a team they are in the same group with, giving them a psychological advantage before the sides meet again in the opening match on 19 November.

The preparations for the team’s African safari has been a pile of poo without even an attempt to put glitter on them.
