Social media falls in love with Jake

Jake was one of the children I taught in Ghana. He was always gentle and quiet.. Ever present in class and was eager to learn everyday. That’s what I loved about all the children. Their enthusiasm and high spirit was refreshing and encouraged me to continue helping them.

By the time the resourceful  Ranga Mberi had found out who had taken a picture by Carlos Scort that went viral we like the rest of social media had fallen in love with it.

Memes and captions had gone viral and all centred on one thing.

Focus.

An unwavering dedication to what you are doing in that moment and from Adufah’s description of young Jake, we were spot-on. Jake has it in his face. That he will not be sold any dream that he does not believe in, focused on completing the task at had, triage, as the Romans called it.

In that picture Scort inspired many today. In that expression, Jake touched many. In his eyes, he captured out souls.
