The announcement was made on Tuesday morning in Bulawayo.

The popular streak was always favourite ahead of former fellow Chevrons international Andy Blignaut as well as South African pair Peter Kirsten and Justin Summons.

He takes over from Dav Whatmore who was removed in June.

Before taking on this position he was bowling coach for Bangladesh.

Streak will still be allowed to carry on his role as bowling coach of IPL side the Gujarat Lions.

He now has three weeks to ready his charges for the test series against Sri Lanka and the following ODI tri-series which will involve West Indies.
