Zim Under-20 coach blames poor preparations after Cameroon stalemate

Zimbabwe under-20  coach Jairos Tapera blamed poor preparations after his charges drew 0-0 against Cameroon in the second round first leg of the Orange U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Young Warriors had the worst possible preparation as they could not even get a place to sleep in the run up to the match.

Tapera is clearly unimpressed and was quoted on the Zifa website as saying:

Football is about preparations, if you don’t prepare obvious you are preparing to lose. Whatever is going to happen in Cameroon we have to prepare. We need time to prepare as long as we don’t prepare we are going to lose

The match ended nill all and the two teams will play the second leg in the week of 10 to 12 June in Cameroon.

Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join hosts Zambia for the tournament scheduled for 26 February to 12 March 2017.
