Sindisiwe Manqele has been sentenced to 12 years in jail after being convicted of the murder of her boyfriend Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi.
The judge called the sentence an unpleasant task saying because of the circumstances both Manqele and Flabba were victims.
Judge Solly Sithole also said it was a duty to society that if someone committed a crime they must be punished.
Manqele stabbed Flabba during a fight on 9 March 2015 resulting in the death of the Skwatta Kamp star.
The defence is applying for bail pending application for leave to appeal against judgement and sentence.
UPDATE: Manqele has been granted R25,000 bail until the date of her next court appearance.
