Weekly #263Chat returns. We chat to Sir Nige

The weekly Tuesday #263Chat made a return on 19 January 2016 after some time out.

263chat

We had a chat with founder Nigel Mugamu (@SirNige) on the hiatus and what to expect.

Is it going to be weekly again?
Yes it is.

What did you learn in your time away from it?
While the online discussions take place every day, we have also learnt that it’s important to make time each week to organise some sort of ‘organised’ discussion in the #263Chat format to allow for more focus

Will you still have tweetable?
Yes we will. We have been involved in what we call ‘live events’ throughout 2015. There are more planned in 2016.

Has the dialogue moved forward on social media?
We think it has. You’ll see more video content and much more engagement. Our friends in the telecoms sector have introduced data bundles which have made it easier and cheaper for some people to join these online discussions. You only have to look at PO Box is see growth in the use of social media and short videos. Those videos create a lot of online and offline discussion. Additionally, online discussions continue to be taken offline by many of us.

Why the absence?
263Chat is much more than a twitter discussion platform. We’re registered business with clients and client work. In 2015 we needed to focus more on sustainability, explore particular markets and ultimately client work got in the way. We’ve found a way to balance things and we’ll continue with this model. There are some telecoms companies in Zim who offer twitter bundles who have made it easier for people to join and interact every day. We thank them.

What key topics are you looking to tackle?
#263Chat topics are always suggested by the audience.

#263Chat is on Twitter every Tuesday at 18:00(CAT)
