There are probably people out there had a real turn-up last night when they heard beleaguered Zimbabwe Football Association president Cuthbert Dube had finally quit his job.

Councillors made it clear in no uncertain terms that they were done with him and he decided to use what remained of his nine lives for other things.

He remains in the position until the early December when an election shall be held.

In the interests of football in Zimbabwe and as a true, tried and tested patriot, I have decided to resign as ZIFA President. I shall remain President of ZIFA until elections for a new President are held on 5 December 2015

That there is a middle finger right there gentlemen and ladies.

Dube also says a good number of national assignments would not have happened without him and we can’t really argue with it given the amount of his own money that went to the game.

It is a new period but let’s face it, ever Zifa president since Morrison Sifelani (as far as we can remember) has been hated. This means there is a new face coming but it doesnt necessarily mean a new reality.
