Tinashe, AKA, The Soil Nominated For BET Award

Zimbabwe linked RnB diva Tinashe has been nominated for a BET Award.

She will fight it out against the likes Bobby Shmurda and Sam Smith for best new artist.

Tinashe’s father is from Zimbabwe.

South Africa’s AKA and The Soil were among the nominations for best International Act (Africa). Nigeria also had two nominations with Yemi Alade and Wizkid up for gongs. Ghanaian pair Sarkodie and Stonebwoy were joined by Fally Ipupa (DRC) and Sauti Sol (Kenya).

Front runners for the awards were Chris Brown and Nikki Minaj who picked up 6 nominations each.

The BET awards are on 30 June 2015.
