2014 REVIEW: October – #MiniSkirtMarch, Jnr Doctors Strike, Bafana Captain Murder

We come to the month of October 2014 as we have a look at what happened in that month.

The European Union announced it was lifting economic sanctions (or restricted measures as they call them)  on Zimbabwe.

The junior doctors went on strike over pay and allowances.

The Zimbabwe Music Awards were held, and well, there were winners.

There was something of a farcical sexiest Zimbabwean women alive list. So yeah. And there was a sexiest men’s list too.

The University of Zimbabwe instituted a ban on kissing and hugging on campus.

Meanwhile a mini-skirt march happened and louts and pillocks disrupted it.

Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

The United Kingdom moved to outlaw revenge porn making it a criminal offence.

A Harare power station caught fire so that happened.

Five people died in that horrific Mabvuku turn-off accident.

Konshens who was meant to come to Zimbabwe was barred from doing so by his government over the whole ebola thing. We have no idea why.

Music released that month were from Jnr Brown ft Gze (Mariia), Simba Tagz ft Ice Prince (Don’t Leave Me rmx), RayDizz & DJ Smylie (If Found Please Return To Harare), Stunner ft Freeman (Hatiko Ikoko)

We lost Book Cafe founder Paul Brickhill, Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa among others.

Oh, and a sex instruction video by a Zimbabwean woman went viral. It was a curious thing to watch.
