2014 REVIEW: September – Harare Plane Crash, TB Joshua Building Collapse, Tuku Book

September 2014 was a year of a few surprises as the narrative of the country in the mainstream went wild.

Two Airforce pilots died during a routine near Charles prince Airport. The pictures were sad.

There was that explosive Oliver Mtukudzi statement on the book. Oh that book wasexplosive.

A building collapsed at TB Joshua’s Church and scores died. He didn’t help his cause when he got caught offering journalists bribes.

Close Circuit TV showed a spectacular car crash at a service station in Harare.

Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide for shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The Zimbabwe Music Awards had to be postponed due to ‘logistical challenges’. That phrase was used by a lot of people this year.

There was that Buffalo Souljah video with Maneta with that deep kiss.

Walter Magaya was reported to have paid off the guy accusing him of doing the unmentionable stuff with his wife. $150,000 they said.

Generations went off air on SABC1 with a whimper.

Football violence reared its ugly head when Highlanders lost and strangely enough when Dynamos won. And it was not the same match.

Zimbabwe mad a go to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2017. We knew that was not going anywhere.

Speaking of AFCON, CAF decided to allocare three hosts for successive editions to be decided at once. We were not amused.

Music released that month was from Evicted(Ndoita Sei), Vito(Forever), Shastro ft Stunner (Song YeVasikana)

We lost Eric Bloch, activist Thomas Deve,  Mizchif among others.

OH, and the beautiful Sandiswe Bhule was crowned Miss Earth Zimbabwe.

And Afrika Revenge reunited.
