Zim Submits 2017 Afcon Bid

The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) as submitted its bid document for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

Zifa made this announcement via its website stating that it had decided to given it a go alone after first Zambia and then Botswana declined to join it in its bid to host the continental showpiece.

Algeria are favourites and are expected to hand their bid in. Kenya and Ghana have also expressed in hosting the event which found itself without a home after Lybia was forced to pull out due to troubles back home.

Now a bid committee will be constituted and announced at an event soon. The committee comprises of the chairperson, vice chairperson and ten (10) committee members drawn from various sectors, read the site.
