Reports are that charismatic Prophetic Healing and Deliveranc ministries leader Walter Magaya paid off a man who accused him of messing about with his wife.
Denford Mutashu is alleged, according to NewZimbabwe.com, to have received $150,000 as part of an out-of-court settlement resulting in the case being withdrawn. The lawsuite was for $500,000.
Other sources however make no mention of this $150k business with NewsDay choosing to simply go with the headline Magaya accuser chickens out. Daily News also goes with the same headline and The Herald has gone with Magaya off the hook.
Magaya’s lawyer Norman Mugiya says he is ‘permitted to’ release details behind the sudden withdrawal… curious choice of words given the case isn’t it?
Mutashu had accused Magaya of behaving in an ungodly manner with his wife Nomsa Ruvazhe. The good man of the cloth denied this but Mutashu persisted with his case in the courts. He even had a criminal case of bigamy which, well isn’t a good look.
