Judge Thokozile Masipa has thrown out the state’s case of premeditated murder against paralympian Oscar Pistorius.
On top of that, Judge Masipa also threw out dolus eventualis, that is knowing what you are doing is dangerous but you do it anyway. That is a lesser charge of murder.
Therefore he cannot be found guilty of murder. There is is the matter of culpable homicide hanging over his head.
Judge Masipa says the state was unable to prove either charge and therefore could not find Pistorius guilty. She said while Pistorius was a very poor and evasive witness that alone was not enough to convict him of the murder of Reeva Steenkamp.
The verdict continues.
