Big Brother Africa Update: Date and Location Speculation

So as you know Big Brother Africa Hotshots was postponed because the house was burned down this week.

The news has been on and off on the new one.

So what do we know for now?

Well we know that the houses had a kit 46 cameras so just finding a new house and rigging it is complex. You pretty much have to build one because of the complexity of the production which includes cameras behind transparent walls.

So what does this mean?

So as to get the show under way, they have to make sure they have to find a place with those specs. It is not as easy as putting it together so now it appears as if the folks at Endemol and MNet are looking outside the continent to see if they can find a place that has a house that is free right now to run the show from? Head of corporate affairs at Multichoice Africa, Caroline Creasy, certainly said that was a highly likely thing.

When are they likely to start then?

That is the big one. The speculation is 21 September which is essentially two weeks from the original date. The issue though is if they are to carry people from there to other countries then there might visa/work permit issues. You know how that mess is.

So where are the contestants now?

Well they are not at home. They are staying in a hotel in Johannesburg.

So what now?

We’re not sure. All we know is that the folks in production are working hard on the production.

Quick side-note: We’re just contemplating.
