A Ghanaian lawyers wants football star Asamoah Gyan arrested over the disappearance of his friend and hiplife star Castro 17 days ago.
Ranting on Kumasi-based Metro FM, Maurice Ampaw reportedly said:
For Christ sake, Castro is a celebrity, a star, anybody who was involved should be arrested to enable the person write his statement. We are in a country people do not know their right and that is why they are walking freely. I am therefore calling for the arrest of Asamoah Gyan and anybody, who went with Castro to Ada. They should be arrested and given police enquiry bail, for investigation to be carried out.
If those statements are true – we have not independently verified them – they will of course upset the public which has been sympathetic to the Ghanaian World Cup captain after the disappearance of Castro, real name Theophilus Tagoe and his female friend Janet Bandu.
So far Gyan delayed his return to his Qatar base while rescue work was being carried out as well as offering financial support for the effort.
As a statement, without proof and that sort of thing, it is irresponsible especially coming from a lawyer.
