It looks as if it is the end of an era after Book Cafe’s contract with Mic Inity for the Weddy Weddy Wednesday show came to an end and was not renewed.
The crooner announced at the end of his show last week that it was his final show at the venue with no indication of when he could be seen next.
He will be replaced by rising star Macy&TheRed who have been playing regularly at the same venue for a while and courting crowd.
The band was formed by Macy and her husband Jurgen Huber.
Macy was born in Kenya and was the lead singer of “Hotrod” an established Kenyan band. She performed and toured Kenya and the surrounding countries for several years. The largest show attracting over 20’000 Fans in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
TheREd consists of Cornelius Muponda on Keyboards, Spencer Chakanyuka on Lead guitar, Joshua Penga Drums, Shilo’h Benyamin Shimon on Bass, and Sharon Ndlovu”BUHLE” Florance Thowela Soko supporting vocals.
Macy’s approach to her music comes from a global view and she has chosen the freedom to express her message in any genre.
For the Mic Inity fans, this will be a bit sad but when we spoke to him last Wednesday he was bullish saying that he would be back on the circuit very soon.
It will be interesting to see if she can live up to a billing that at one point was incredibly legendary.
