Kereke Says Biti Stole Money Too

Bikita West legislator, Munyaradzi Kereke has made astonishing allegations claiming that former finance minister Tendai Biti was complicit in the looting of funds that he accuses former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono.

As such Kereke says he is working on making sure that Biti does not represent Gono in the court.

Kereke wants the Constitutional Court to investigate Gono on allegations of having stolen $40 million from the central bank.

He says that Biti had his hands in the cookie jar as finance minister making him a ‘suspect and a witness’. Kereke claims Biti withdrew money from the International Monetary Fund and put it in a private bank which later collapsed. During its being between banks Kereke claims that it ‘thinned out’ and was abused.

Biti denies the allegations saying that moving the money around was meant to stop it being looted.
