Heads Roll At ZBC

The return of Jonathan Moyo as information minister has come with a few casualties.The first to feel the heat are the senior management at the national broadcaster.

CEO Happison Muchehetere has been sent away until further notice while the board led by Cuthbert Dube has been dismissed with immediate effect.

Allan Chiweshe who was head of radio services has been appointed acting CEO.

The irony of cause is that the news was announced yesterday on the ZBC main news. Imagine being the guy who has to announce that your bosses have been given the boot by higher powers?

If you hated your boss it would be sheer exhilaration but if you are that bosses’ nephew then the family might be faced with a mini crisis.

The good professor is quoted as saying:-

“It is common cause that the ZBC has for some considerable time been facing critical leadership and managerial challenges that have not only compromised the national broadcaster’s capacity to effectively and meaningfully discharge its broadcasting mandate but which have also affected the welfare interests of ZBC employees,”

Considering the goings on at ZBC especially the television section we shed no tears.
