Zimbabwe’s leading comic is to share the stage with two prominent South African comedians in Harare this Friday.
The funny man, who has brought focus to Zimbabwean comedy on the continent has stepped in what is relatively new territory… the white crowd. He performs alongside Mark Banks and Chris Forrest.
Chris Forrest is a comedy legend down south. He has been in the game for ten years with a lot of deadpan humour.
Mark Banks is one of the most recognised and respected stand-up comedians of his time. In 25 years of comedy, Mark boasts at least one new one-man show each year, all of which he writes and performs himself.
Carl’s star has risen the last few years as he has broken many boundaries in the Zimbabwe comedy industry. Some schools of thought will even suggest that he is a huge factor the creation of the industry.
Traditionally these show have had only had our light-skinned brothers and sisters… not the yellow-bones as the kids would call them but the really light-skinned, like errr… Caucasian.
It is a credit to Carl that he is now able to cross the cultural divide and be able to be seen as appealing to a different crowd.
The show is at 7 Arts and $30 is the stealing price. Show starts at 7.30pm.
