Jacaranda Muse Brings September Sun To Harare

This coming Friday sees the Harare launch party for the debut album from Zimbabwean genre-transcending group Jacaranda Muse at Alliance Francaise.

The show is towards the end of their regional ‘Coming Home’  Tour which has seen them perform in South Africa and Lesotho so far.

We featured their first video here.

Jacaranda  Muse  is made  up  of  Vimbai  Mukarati (Saxophone/Vocals),  Tinashe  Mukarati  (Percussion),  Filbert  Marova (Piano/Mbira)  and  Donald  Chifamba  (Cello).

The band  creates original,  genre-‐transcending  Zimbabwean  music. During  their  premiere  performance at the  2011  Harare  International  Festival  of  Arts  (HIFA),the  group  caught  the  attention  of producer  Antoine  Rajon  from  the  French  music  label, Heavenly  Sweetness.  The  band began  working together  with  Heavenly  Sweetness  and  Alliance  Française  de Harare  to  record  a  debut  album. Released  in  2012,  September  Sun  showcases  Jacaranda Muse’s  one‐of‐a‐kind  sound.

So diarise 5 July, at the Alliance Francaise from 8 pm.

If you’re in Bulawayo, don’t fret. They are bringing the show there the on Saturday.
