Craig Ervine Opts Out Of Bangladesh Series For Club Cricket

The farce that is the Zimbabwe national cricket team continued as middle-order batsman Craig Ervine pulled out of the upcoming home series against Bangladesh in favour of club cricket in England.

Ervine on twitter said:

It’s disappointing not to be a part of this coming series. In life, tough choices have to be made and this is one of them.

It is believed that he turned down the contract offered because he was being offered $100 a week. While some players have signed he and Sean Williams. Williams is still in discussions with the board.

Earlier this month there had been fears of a player boycott.

Ervine is a blow after he was the top run-scorer for Zimbabwe in the recent West Indies tour. Zimbabwe lost all matches played there.

The series starts this coming Wednesday 17 April with the first of two tests in Harare.

That sucks.
