Alliance Francaise Partners With Old Mutual To Open Theatre

In what we see is a good case of the corporates coming in where the arts community can’t Alliance Francaise  in Harare will this weekend open its doors to the public in unveiling the Old Mutual Theatre.

The investment amounts to $75,000 from the conglomerate,  in which the old setup was converted in a new multi-purpose theatre.

Alliance Francaise will provided the venue for free as long as it pre-booked.

To celebrate this launch, there will be a party at the venue on Saturday. Says a communique

The best of the Zimbabwean artists will perform on stage, including,  Mokoomba, Chiwoniso, Hope Masike, Steve Makoni, Outspoken, Prudence Katomene, Carl Joshua Ncube and for the first time in Zimbabwe, a live painting competition featuring the best visual artists of the country. Siyaya will make a guest performance.

Tickets are priced at $5 and the show starts at 6pm.
